One dead in Houghton County crash
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The driver was taken into custody after being released from the hospital, and was expected to be arraigned on charges Monday. The accident remains under investigation.

One person is dead, following a one-vehicle accident in Houghton County. The Sheriff's Department says the incident occurred Sunday around 2:55 a.m. on Pike River Road near Chassell Painesdale Road in Chassell Township. A vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Michigan Technological University student was southbound on Pike River Road when he lost control. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled several times. There were five occupants in the vehicle. Lee Drelles, 19, was ejected during the accident and pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The driver was taken into custody after being released from the hospital, and was expected to be arraigned on charges Monday.
