Legacy of Faith grants approved by Bishop Sample MARQUETTE, MI (wnmu) - Bishop Alexander Sample of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette has approved nearly $200,000 in grants from the Legacy of Faith endowment fund. Grants were awarded to each of the 9 Catholic schools in the Upper Peninsula to enhance academic excellence. Other grants will aid charities and assist clients unable to pay for services.
A $59,000 grant will implement Bishop Sample's new diocesan faith formation curriculum by providing parishes and missions with the curriculum. The grant will also fund training for priests, faith formation coordinators, and other members of the Church on the use of the new curriculum. Legacy of Faith is the Church's campaign to build a permanent endowment for the Diocese of Marquette while preserving and fostering the Catholic faith for future generations.
