DICKINSON COUNTY, MI
(wnmu) -
A Dickinson County judge has been suspended for misconduct. The Michigan Supreme Court handed down a decision Wednesday to suspend 41st Circuit Court Judge Mary Barglind for 30 days without pay. The court found Barglind consistently delayed rendering decisions on matters submitted for her review--in some cases more than two years. It said Barglind failed to respond to several inquiries made by the State Court Administrative Office regarding the status of various matters; failed to report all matters which remained undecided for more than four months from the date submitted; and after a January 2007 implementation plan was put in place, again did not report undecided matters to the office. The court said Barglind exhibited persistent neglect in the performance of her judicial duties.
