School district looks at new computers
(2008-09-19)
(wnmu) - The Republic-Michigamme school district is looking at upgrading its computer. Superintendent Vicki Lempinen says the computers the students are currently using are about 8 years old. She says new computer systems would help students keep up with the latest technology. She says students must be up-to-date in order to survive in the job market. Lempinen says officials want to replace 24 computers, to the tune of about $30,000. The district is looking into different grants, but has also been receiving donations from individuals and local businesses. So far, the district has received about $5,000.
