Houghton County shooting kills one OSCEOLA TOWNSHIP, MI (wnmu) - One person is dead and a deputy is wounded, following a shooting in Houghton County. The Houghton County Sheriff's Department says the incident occurred Wednesday around 3 p.m. at a residence in Tamarack Location in Osceola Township. The deputy was responding to a neighborhood dispute when the suspect emerged from his house with a golf club. The deputy fired at the man, killing him, and was wounded by a bullet from his own weapon. The deputy is expected to recover from his injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the suspect or the officer. The incident remains under investigation.
