I.T. Conference to be held Thursday
(2008-09-16)
(wnmu) - M-TEC at Bay College in Escanaba will be hosting its 4th Annual Information Technology Conference this week. The conference is a way to provide I.T. professionals with avenues to learn more about their field without leaving the Upper Peninsula.

Renee Lundberg is the Manager of grants and programs for M-TEC. She says information technology is very important to the U.P. because of its rural location. She says technology is always advancing, and the area needs the most up-to-date information to run efficiently. The conference will include presentations on cyber crime, emergency notification services, and I.T.'s newest item, called "cloud computing." The keynote speaker will be Dan Lohrmann, who is Michigan's first ever Chief Information Security Officer. The conference takes place Thursday at Bay College.
