Beach cleanup this weekend UNDATED (wnmu) - The Alliance for the Great Lakes is looking for volunteers to clear beaches of litter this weekend. The September Adopt-a-Beach" cleanup will be held at sites in Chippewa, Keweenaw, Mackinac, Marquette, and Menominee counties. Last year more than 1,900 volunteers visited more than 100 locations around the state, and collected more than 10,000 pounds of trash.

The cleanup takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Times and dates may vary by location. For more information, call 616-550-0817.
