Elections considered a cash campaign
(2008-09-16)
(wnmu) - It is a basic rule of politics that the candidate with the most money wins most of the time. The nonpartisan Michigan campaign finance network says two years ago, the Michigan House candidate with the better-funded campaign won the general election 93 percent of the time. There is no reason to think much will be different this November, when all 110 seats in the Michigan House are again up for grabs, and more money might be raised and spent than ever before, even in this sluggish economy. Candidates raised 10.4 million dollars for the 2008 elections through August 25th which is up 11.5 percent from the same time 2 years ago. © Copyright 2009, wnmu
