Sault Schools see decline in enrollment
(2008-09-16)
(wnmu) - Sault St.Marie public area schools have seen a decrease in enrollment. A preliminary report showed a loss of 112 students when estimates had the schools losing 97 students. Dan Reattoir is the Superintendent of Sault area public schools. He says they have initiated a new preschool program to help prepare students for school as well as increase enrollment. Reattoir says the schools are losing students to states as far as Florida, Kentucky, and Montana. He adds that they are severely limited due to Michigan's economy but they do have hope that the new preschool program will bring in more numbers and more state funding.
