DICKINSON COUNTY, MI
(wnmu) -
The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners has approved the Authority's Interlocal Agreement. The purpose of the Upper Peninsula 911 Authority is to offset some state agencies efforts to take local control and change the funding for 911 Dispatch Centers. Pete Schlitt is the Emergency Services Director for Dickinson County. He says there are many benefits to the U.P. 911 Authority. Prosecuting Attorney Chris Ninomiya did raise a concern about the "Potential Liability for an annual financial contribution that would be assessed by the authority." Ninomiya drafted an addendum to the agreement before the board approved the authority. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
