Marquette Commission looks at skating plaza proposal MARQUETTE, MI (wnmu) - The Marquette City Commission has held a work session to address concerns on new skate plaza proposal. Members of the Marquette American Legion had been voicing concerns to the media on the location of the plaza, worrying about noise and parking however, no American Legion members attended the work session. Tom Tourville is the Mayor of Marquette. He says the plaza is not like a normal skating park. He says it will be quiet and have plenty of sufficient parking. Tourville says he feels the skate plaza will be in a good location. He says skating is a widespread activity for kids in the area and having a facility where kids can go and have fun safely is a very positive thing.
