UPPCO holds meeting regarding AuTrain Dam
Moyle says UPPCO is still supportive of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources' interest in acquiring a wildlife refuge on the south end of AuTrain Basin. He notes the estimated costs of bringing the dam into FERC compliance is around $12 million. UPPCO officials hope to make a final decision by early next year.

Upper Peninsula Power Company is still discussing options for the AuTrain Dam at Forest Lake. A public meeting was held Monday night to gather public input on the dam, which failed to meet Federal Energy Regulatory Commission spillway capacity requirements. UPPCO Vice President and General Manager Keith Moyle says comments received will aid UPPCO officials in making future decisions regarding the basin.Moyle says UPPCO is still supportive of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources' interest in acquiring a wildlife refuge on the south end of AuTrain Basin.
