International Bridge receives good report SAULT ST. MARIE, MI (wnmu) - The International Bridge has received positive reports on the condition of the bridge deck. Phil Becker is the General Manager of the International Bridge Authority. He says due to the good conditions of the bridge they have been able to delay a project for the next 25 to 30 years. Becker says although they have been able to put off a deck replacement project, they are recommended to replace the Canadian arc span with concrete by 2009, which will cost about 2 million dollars, and a concrete deck overlay of the entire bridge by 2023 which will cost 24 million dollars. Becker adds that the bridge's maintenance program deserves much of the credit for being diligent, hard workers and keeping the bridge in such good standing.
