Richardson appeal denied
A jury found the 46-year-old Richardson guilty of First-Degree Murder in April. The downstate resident was sentenced to life in prison without parole. His wife, 43-year-old Juanita Richardson, fell to her death from a 140-foot-high cliff at the Upper Peninsula park in June of 2006.
Defense attorneys contend numerous errors were committed during the trial, including an improper experiment conducted by jurors during their deliberations.

A judge has denied a request for a new trial for a man convicted of causing his wife's fatal fall at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Alger County Circuit Judge William Carmody denied Thomas Richardson's motion Wednesday.
