An Upper Peninsula community has been given federal fire funds. The Department of Homeland Security has slated just over $66,000 for Covington Township in Baraga County.The money comes through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, and can be used to improve operations and health and safety programs and to establish or expand fire prevention programs.
