Public TV 13 gets grant to go digital

(wnmu) - Northern Michigan University's public television station has received federal funds to convert to digital technology. WNMU-TV 13 has been awarded $633,231 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program. The money will be used to convert studio facilities from analog to digital and purchase high-definition digital remote production equipment.

By law, all full-power TV stations in the country will stop broadcasting in analog and switch to digital on February 17th, 2009.
