Rapid River man arrested on firearms charges
Troopers were called after a male subject shot a firearm outside his house. Officers approached the residence on foot, then took cover after five or six shots were fired from a rifle. Troopers and officials with the Delta County Sheriff's Department and Michigan DNR established a perimeter outside the house, then contacted the suspect by phone. Three children and a woman exited the home, and a short time later the 39-year-old suspect gave himself up.
A search warrant uncovered five firearms in the house. The man is lodged in the Delta County Jail on charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm while Intoxicated, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

A Rapid River man has been arrested on weapons charges. State Police from the Gladstone post say the incident occurred Monday around 11 p.m. at a residence on South Main Street. Troopers were called after a male subject shot a firearm outside his house. Officers approached the residence on foot, then took cover after five or six shots were fired from a rifle. Troopers and officials with the Delta County Sheriff's Department and Michigan DNR established a perimeter outside the house, then contacted the suspect by phone.
