Teens arrested for spray-painting Marquette school

(wnmu) - Marquette City Police have apprehended two men they suspect of defacing Marquette Senior High School. Officers were dispatched to the school around 1:00 a.m. Friday on a report of suspicious people in the area. Police found spray paint damage to the Corner Zone at Lincoln and College Avenue, and similar damage to the school building and surrounding area.

Officers saw two suspects running across the school parking lot and gave chase. They caught one on the 1100 block of Norway Street, and the second one was apprehended in the same area a short time later.

The 18-year-olds are currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail. Official charges are pending review by the Marquette County Prosecutor's Office. Investigation continues, and additional suspects may be identified.
