A member of the Hannahville Indian Community has pleaded guilty to a federal Domestic Assault by an Habitual Offender charge. David Metzger, 23, of Wilson has five prior domestic violence convictions from the Hannahville Tribal Court. He has been charged under a code enacted in 2006 that provides stiffer penalties for repeat domestic violence offenders in Indian Country. Metzger faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is set for August 22.
