There has been an increasing number of attempted and successful suicides by Iraq and Afghan war veterans. The Veterans Administration has records of suicide of veterans under there care, but some feel they need to pay more attention to all veterans. Senator Russ Feingold joined with Democratic Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa, to introduce a bill requiring the VA to track all veteran suicides and suicide attempts. Recent veteran suicides have initiated a lawsuit against the VA demanding they stop turing mentally-ill veterans away from VA hospitals. The VA's deputy chief of patient care services says they are looking for ways to display the VA's expanded mental health programs for vets. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
