DNR disagrees with ATV trails possible location
(2008-04-22)
(wnmu) - The Department of Natural Resources has suggested that ATV trails not be built in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. The controversy has brought about almost 2,500 comments and opinions in several public meetings. Reasons for opposing the trails include: costs, environmental impacts, concerns about supervision, user conflicts, and local opposition. Those who own ATV's however, continue to push for trails in Northern Highland. The DNR's recommendation must be approved by the Natural Resources board, which meets tomorrow in Madison. Both opposing sides will attend the meeting. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
