(2008-03-04)
MANISTIQUE, MI
(wnmu) -
US-2 in Schoolcraft County is reopen, following a one-vehicle accident in Manistique Township. Troopers from the Manistique post say the incident occurred Monday around 6:00 a.m. near the Bayview Shell gas station. A Pepsi truck driven by a 45-year-old Wisconsin man was going too fast in wintry conditions when it slid into a ditch and struck a tree. The driver suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital for treatment. The truck was extensively damaged. The Department of Environmental Quality was called in for a possible diesel fuel spill. US-2 was closed until 7:20 p.m.
