DNR hires new U.P. field deputy

(wnmu) - The assistant chief of the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division has been promoted to acting field deputy for the U.P. Thomas Courchaine has been with the DNR for 27 years. He replaces Jim Ekdahl, who retired in January after 33 years with the department. As field deputy, Courchaine will be the DNR's chief representative in the region, and will have administrative responsibility for all department operations in the U.P.
