A county sheriff is still waiting for clarification on a bill that could stop his candidacy for Marquette Sheriff. Ishpeming Police Chief Jim Bjorne says the Hatch Act of 1939 addresses people pursuing partisan offices who may be connected with federal funding. He says this is not stopping him from moving forward with his campaign. Bjorne adds that since 2003 Ishpeming has given $969 dollars in reimbursement grants exclusively designed for officers working overtime in the areas of traffic. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
