The name of a Wells Township man found dead near his home in southern Marquette County has been released. The Sheriff's Department says Gary Lee Heikkinen, 48, of Cornell was found deceased Saturday in a wooded area near County Road SA. Preliminary investigation reveals Heikkinen left home late Friday night. Deputies say he may have become disoriented in a field near his home and succumbed to extreme cold. The incident remains under investigation.
