A conservation group says president Bush's budget includes more help for birds in Wisconsin and other states. The National Audubon Society recently issued a report that said about one-quarter of all U.S. birds need help because of threats on their habitats. The "birds forever" initiative in the Department of the Interior Budget submitted by Bush would put $36 million more toward wildlife refuges. There would also be another $8 million for monitoring and assessment of birds and joint projects that help migrating birds.
