Michigan Technological University has received a grant. The grant was given to the Michigan Tech archives and Copper Country Historical Collections, and was presented by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The grant will allow the archives to purchase specialized equipment and supplies to ensure the preservation of historical records documenting the history of Michigan's historic copper mining district. The funding will address five main issues such as; cleaning historic collections, monitoring temperature and humidity levels, measurement of visible and ultraviolet light levels, pest management programs, and improvements to emergency response plans. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
