GLYCD presenting youth assets
(2008-01-17)
(wnmu) - The Great Lakes Center for Youth Development wants Marquette and Alger County residents to help young people in their communities. In October, a youth summit focused on 40 developmental assets--or strengths that youth need to grow up healthy, competent, and caring. Now, the GLYCD is offering a presentation on the results of that summit. Youth development associate Linda Remsburg says the presentation aims to educate the public on youth strengths and needs, and to encourage them to address concerns.

Areas of youth concern include restraint, adult role models, and planning and decision-making. They identified safety, family support, and a positive view of personal future as strengths.
