The Michigan Department of Transportation is reminding residents about the legalities of plowing. MDOT says it's illegal for anyone--including businesses--along state highways to push snow from their driveways onto shoulders or the roadway. Officials say those who don't keep the snow off the road are liable for any accidents that occur.MDOT says the areas around mailboxes should also be kept clear, and shoveling sidewalks and pathways will help pedestrians.
