The Marquette Parks and Recreation Department wants ideas on how to expand activities at Lakeview Arena. Officials are holding a work session Tuesday to give the public a tour of the facility and solicit recommendations on how the building can generate more revenue. Parks and Recreation Director Hugh Leslie says the aim of the session is to exploit Lakeview's potential beyond winter activities.A recent evaluation of Lakeview's physical plants revealed a need for several improvements. Leslie says officials are looking to issue a
20-year bond to fix the facility, once the current bond expires.
The tour begins Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., with the work session following at 6:00 in the Citizen's Forum Room at Lakeview. Anyone unable to attend the event may submit comments at www.mqtcty.org, or call 228-0490.
