MARQUETTE, MI
(wnmu) -
Four illegal immigrants have been sentenced in federal court for re-entering the U.S. and working in Marquette County. Jorge Ramos-Veliz, 23, of Honduras, was arrested by Marquette police in August of last year. A couple of weeks later the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Michigan State Police found a number of illegal aliens staying at the Tall Pines Motel in Negaunee. Arrested were Armando Cerda-Infante, 25, Jose Cerda-Torres, 28, and Gregorio Sosa-Rivera, 25--all of Mexico. They were working on roofing jobs following a strong hail storm in the Marquette area. Each defendant was sentenced to time served--about three-and-a-half months--and are being processed for removal from the U.S. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
