A Mackinac County man is dead, following a two-vehicle accident in Moran Township. Troopers from the St. Ignace post say the incident occurred Tuesday around 8:35 a.m. on US-2 near Point LaBarbe Road. Officials say Robert Flora, 92, of Brevort was westbound when he pulled to the right shoulder of the highway. He then attempted a U-turn in front of oncoming traffic, and was hit broadside by an AT&T work truck. Flora was taken to Mackinac Straits Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was not injured. Troopers say alcohol and speed were not factors in the accident.
