Marquette Humane Society offering low-cost spaying and neutering

The Marquette County Humane Society wants to spay and neuter as many area dogs as possible. Supervisor Dana Kennedy says the Humane Society has received a grant from a national foundation for low-cost or free spayings and neuterings for lower-income people. Kennedy says the grant allows everyone the opportunity to give their pets a healthier life, as fixed animals live longer.To qualify, pet owners must meet low-income standards, be residents of Marquette County, and be up-to-date on their dog's vaccinations.
