Ishpeming chief running for sheriff

ISHPEMING, MI

The chief of Ishpeming Police is throwing his hat into the ring for Marquette County Sheriff. Jim Bjorne has announced his candidacy for the post currently held by Sheriff Mike Lovelace. Bjorne has been chief for the past seven years, and also served as Marquette County Undersheriff for four years. He is currently collecting the needed signatures to appear on the Democratic primary ballot on August 5, 2008.
