A fiction award has been established to honor the memory of longtime English professor John VandeZande. The first competition for the award will take place this year. The submission deadline is February 15th and the winner of the $200 cash prize will be announced in April. VandeZande served on the English faculty for 30 years. His writings appeared in a host of publications. He retired from the English faculty in 1996. The VandeZande family and the English department established the prize.
