WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP, MI

One person is injured, following a one-vehicle accident in West Branch Township. Troopers from the Negaunee post say the incident occurred Saturday around 2:15 a.m. on Beckman Road. A vehicle driven by Ted Martin, 30, of Skandia was eastbound when it crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Martin was taken to Marquette General Hospital, where he was treated for a variety of injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, and Martin was not wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation.
