A Luce County man is dead, following a motorcycle accident near Dollarville. Troopers from the Newberry post say the incident occurred Saturday night on County Road 405. Officials say Joseph Willobee, 41, of McMillan was speeding on his motorcycle when a Luce County deputy attempted to stop him. Willobee fled at a high rate of speed, lost control of the bike on a curve, and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An occupant of the other vehicle was taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
