Four Marquette County residents have been arrested for smuggling drugs into the Marquette County Jail. Deputies say the incident took place September 17, and involved prescription medication, including morphine. The suspects were arrested on 14 felony counts, including Furnishing Contraband to Prisoners, Conspiracy to Furnish Contraband, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance on School Property. They include Ashley Phillips, 19, of Negaunee Township, and Ashley DesJardins, 21, Robert Northrup, 75, and Brittney Hoxie, 18--all of Marquette. Warrants have been issued for two other suspects in the case.
