The Marquette Area Education Association has been added to the Michigan Education's Critical List. The area teachers have been working without a contract since this past July, and have been negotiating to fix the problem. Matt Edgell is the president of the Marquette Area Education Association. He says hopes are still high that a contract can be reached. Edgell says the MAEA's efforts are being aided by a Crisis Assistance Team to help the teachers negotiating team stay organized. The Marquette Area School District and the MAEA are planning to meet again in early October with a mediator.© Copyright 2013, wnmu
