A Houghton man has been arrested for breaking into a coin operated machine. City police say the 19-year old man was arrested early last Saturday morning after State Police observed a vehicle driving behind Sayen's Car Wash on M-26 in Houghton. Because of recent thefts in the area, police investigated further and found the suspect tampering with the coin machine on the car vacuum near the entrance of the car wash. Police say the suspect confessed to the incident and to several others incidents in the area. The suspect was arrested on charges of breaking and entering a coin operated device and possession of a device to open coin operated devices. The incident remains under investigation.
