The Marquette County Sheriff's Department has identified a number of suspected illegal aliens in the area. The Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police, and Marquette City Police were conducting a joint investigation into an alleged forged immigration document complaint. As a result, officials came into contact with the suspected aliens at a Negaunee Township motel. None had immigration documentation, and had been working for construction contractors in the Marquette area. The people are currently in the custody of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.
