Officials with the Alliance for the Great Lakes are asking residents in coastal counties to keep their beaches clean. This month the alliance is sponsoring an event as part of an international beach clean up. Jamie Cross is the manager of outreach programs with the Alliance for the great lakes. she says there are many things people can do to aid in the project such as monitering water quality and picking up litter.
