A Luce County boy is dead, after he was struck by a pickup truck near McMillan. State Police at the Newberry post say the incident occurred Thursday morning as the 11-year-old headed to his bus stop. The truck was westbound on County Road 98 when the boy ran in front of it. He was taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, then transferred to the University of Michigan Hospital, where he later died. No charges have been filed in the accident, which remains under investigation.
