Hancock Salvation Army looking for donations
(2007-09-07)
(wnmu) - The Salvation Army in Hancock is benefitting from recent donations, but could use more. Corps Officer Captain Mark Brown says shelves were bare of much-needed items like peanut butter, tuna, cereal, canned milk, and juice. But residents and an area grocery store came through with more than a pallet of food to restock the pantry. Brown says now what they need to focus on is raising $35,000 for operational expenses. He says the Hancock Salvation Army has had to rely on the national organization to pay for things it couldn't this year, and the money adds up.

Brown says the Hancock store served 48 families in July alone. For donation information, call 482-3420.
