Ishpeming woman charged with stealing puppy
(2007-08-27)
(wnmu) - An Ishpeming woman has been arrested for stealing a puppy from a Marquette business. City Police say the incident was reported last Tuesday around 2:45 p.m. at the Pet Stop after an employee noticed a Chihuahua puppy missing from its play area. A 5-year-old witness later told employees she had seen a woman walk out of the store with a puppy in her coat pocket. Further investigation identified April Anderson, 31, as a suspect. The dog has been recovered, and Anderson is charged with Second-Degree Retail Fraud. The charge is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.
