A Sault Ste. Marie man has been sentenced in federal court for sexually abusing a minor. Howard McKelvie, 34, pleaded guilty in May to three counts of Sexual Abuse of a 14-year-old victim. Both he and the victim are members of the Bay Mills Indian Community. McKelvie was sentenced this week to 63 months in prison and five years supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
