Officials at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are celebrating the completion of improvements at Miner's Beach. The project included expanding the parking lot and implementing erosion control measures in that area. Facility manager Chris Case says the parking lot is much bigger, which makes it easier to get in with trailers and unload recreational equipment. Case says some trails and shortcuts that contributed to erosion problems on the dune have been blocked off and rehabilitated. A brief dedication ceremony for the improvements will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the new parking lot.
