Efforts are underway to create a cooperative committee' between Houghton Portage Township Schools and Hancock Public Schools. The districts are looking at combining their best ideas and dealing with shared issues together to better the educational environment for students. Bill Polkinghorne is the superintendent of Houghton-Portage Township Schools. He says the joint committee will be beneficial in a time of economic struggle. Polkinghorne says the superintendents from both schools will take part in the committee along with a few other members who are currently being selected. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
