Law enforcement to patrol for drunk drivers

(wnmu) - Officers from 12 law enforcement agencies will be patrolling for drunk drivers this june. Counties participating include; Delta, Dickenson, Gogebic, Marquette and Schoolcraft counties. The Office of Highway Safety Planning is providing the agencies with federal traffic safety funds, to reduce traffic injuries caused by drunk drivers. Last June, law enforcement made 1,400 arrests during grant funded watch. Drivers with a .08 blood alcohol level will be considered drunk and will face up to 93 days in jail, along with community service and fines. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
