Teen arrested for mercury spill at MSHS

A Negaunee youth has been petitioned into Marquette County Juvenile Court for spilling mercury at Marquette Senior High School. Between two and three ounces of the liquid metal were found in two separate locations at the school May 22nd. The school was closed for a couple of days while authorities cleaned up the area. Investigation revealed a 15-year-old boy who was attending MSHS was responsible for the spill. The Marquette County Prosecutor's Office has authorized a petition charging the boy with Knowing Release of a Hazardous Substance.
